Technology should strengthen humanity—not divide it.

“Selam” means peace. Our initiative exists to help ensure that artificial intelligence is designed, discussed and used in ways that respect people, reduce harm and create opportunity.

We focus on practical education, public awareness and collaborative programs that make responsible AI understandable and useful for students, educators, creators, civil society and emerging innovators.

Read our guiding principles

Responsible AI starts with responsible choices.

Our work is guided by practical principles that communities can understand, teach and apply.

01

Human dignity

AI should support human rights, agency, safety and wellbeing.

02

Fairness and inclusion

AI systems should not deepen inequality or exclude African voices and realities.

03

Transparency

People should understand when AI is used, what it can do and where it may fail.

04

Peaceful purpose

We advocate for AI that supports learning, dialogue, development and peace—not violence or manipulation.

From awareness to practical action.

Our programs connect responsible AI ideas with real skills, public dialogue and community impact.
